Our Story

Long Island's nonprofit organizations are often small, grassroots organizations founded by hard working, caring people who are working on solving real problems on a local level.  With limited budgets and small staff they face the same problems as large, national organizations.  Materials must be bought, operating expenses paid, and grant requirements must be tracked.  Large organizations have "in-house" research departments whose sole responsibility is to seek funding sources from Corporations, Foundations and Donors.

After working for 25 years as a prospect researcher for nonprofit organizations on Long Island and New York City, Susan Shebar Fioribello, founded PEAR Research Group to provide "in-house" research services to nonprofit organizations on Long Island and the surrounding area.  PEAR location and flexible structure means we can provide dedicated researchers to your project so you develop a relationship with your researchers or we can remain "on-call" for fast turnaround "as needed" projects.

PEAR's location on the South Shore of Long Island means that the researchers are not only well acquainted with the political, social and geographical issues of the region but can also quickly respond to urgent requests by phone, email, fax or even in person.

In addition to conducting prospect research PEAR can also offer consulting help for choosing resources and training your staff in research techniques, guiding your organization through wealth screening and modeling projects, developing assessment methods for grants and program improvements and creating archives and document management policies and procedures, including data entry and database manuals.
